Privacy & Terms

The short, real version.

This page exists because you should be able to check what we do with your information before you pay us, not after. It is deliberately short, because we deliberately collect very little.

What we collect

Payment card details go to Stripe and never touch our systems. We never see your card number.

What we don't collect

No account. No password. No analytics or tracking scripts on this site. No advertising pixels. No cookies set by us. No location data, no device fingerprinting, no scan-level logs tied to individuals. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone, and there is no third party we hand it to for marketing purposes.

Our infrastructure providers necessarily process data on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and the redirect itself), Vercel (the function that generates and sends your files), and Resend (delivery email). Cloudflare keeps standard edge request logs, as any web host does.

When a destination is a web address, we check it against Google Safe Browsing before pointing a code at it. That check sends the URL to Google. We do it so that one abusive customer cannot get the whole domain blocklisted and break everyone else's printed codes.

How long we keep it

Your code's record — destination, email, edit token, scan count — is kept for as long as the code is active, which is the point of buying it: a printed code has to keep resolving indefinitely. Ask us to delete it and we will, but understand that deleting the record is the same as switching the printed code off.

Refunds

Not working the way you expected within 30 days? Full refund, no argument. Email hello@notfreeqrcode.com and we refund the $25. We don't ask you to justify it and there is no restocking fee or partial-refund tier.

The refund covers the $25 purchase. If you have paid a $5 edit fee, that is refundable within the same 30 days on the same terms. After 30 days we will still read your email and still try to help, but the guarantee is 30 days.

What it costs, in full

Some code types are static, meaning the information is encoded directly into the QR image rather than looked up through us. Those cost the same $25 and cannot be edited at all — there is nothing to charge $5 for. The product page says which is which before you buy.

If this service ever winds down

Written down, before you have paid us anything: if we ever have to shut down, every customer gets at least twelve months' notice, and the complete map of every code and where it points is published publicly before the lights go out — so that you, or any other provider you choose, can rehost the redirects and keep your printed materials working without us.

That export contains only the code and its destination. It contains no email addresses and no edit tokens, by design. The mechanism is a route called /export that already exists today; it is access-controlled while we are operating, and publishing it openly is precisely what winding down would mean.

We deliberately do not promise to migrate you to a competitor and pay for it. A one-person business cannot honour that, and a promise nobody can keep is the exact thing this company exists to complain about.

Your rights

Email hello@notfreeqrcode.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. There is no form and no ticket system — it is one person reading the mail. If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with its own privacy law, the rights those laws give you apply here, and this is how you exercise them.
